The 3M 8656 is a brushable seam sealer that is designed to seal sheet metal, overlap joints that have been spotwelded, riveted, or bolted together. It dries quickly to prevent sagging or flow to restore factory appearance, Can be painted when dry, Adheres to primed or painted surfaces, and remains flexible and resists oil, fuel and other automotive fluids. Use it for sealing floor pans, firewalls, trunk seams, shock absorber mounting towers around well wheels, fuel filler splash pans and around headlight and taillight openings.
