The SEM 45508, Rust Trap, Protective Coating System is a moisture cured urethane coating formulated to coat, treat, and seal rusty metal and corrosion that forms on steel. Great for use on undercarriage parts such as shock springs, rear ends, front end parts, frame, floor pans, etc... Dries to a non-pourous, Rock hard, glossy finish with excellent durability and is impervious to most all chemicals. Not recommended for exposure to sunlight without first coating with a u.v. stable color coat. Rust Trap can be applied with a brush or spraygun.

Rust Trap Application Procedure:

First remove all loose rust scale from the surface using a wire brush, sandpaper, or a scraper. Next remove possible contaminants by use SEM 38373 Sem Solve or a similar Pre-Cleaner.

For Spray On Application: Pour in Spraygun and apply in 2-3 thin coats allowing 15 minutes flash time between each coat.

For Brush On Application: Brush on in 2-3 thin coats allowing 20-60 minutes flash time between each coat. Dry times can vary substantially with temperature and humidity levels. 

Before you apply any other primer or topcoat over the Rust Trap make sure the surface has a hand slick feel. If the surface feels tacky it's not ready. Usually 24 hours is about the right time to coat over.

Salesman Notes: Avoid getting Rust Trap on your skin because there are no known hand cleaners that will safely remove it from your skin. If you get it on you and it dries, you will wear it off.
