MultyPrime DTM 2K Urethane Primer Surfacer MP5000

The MultyPrime DTM 2K Urethane Primer Surfacer is a direct-to-metal 2K Urethane Primer Surfacer that has good filling characteristics, sprays nice, and sands beautifully. MultyPrime DTM 2k Urethane Primer Surfacer can be used over OEM finishes, gelcoat, body fillers, fiberglass fillers, Epoxy Primer, Self Etch Primer, and can be used as a DTM (Direct to Metal) primer. Multyprime DTM has excellent adhesion, corrosion resistance, and color holdout.

MultyPrime DTM 2K Urethane Primer Surfacer Technical Information:

Surface Preparation:

• Prep bare metal surfaces with P180-P220 grit
• Prep existing coatings using P320 grit

MultyPrime DTM Mix Ratio:

• As a Surfacer: 4-1 (4 parts Primer to 1 Part SH5000 Standard Hardener)
  • 2-3 Coats Recommended
• As a Non-Sanding Sealer: 4-1-1 (1 part paint grade urethane reducer may be added)
  • 1-2 Coats Recommended

Spray Gun Recommendations:

• As a Primer Surfacer: 1.7mm - 2.0mm
• As a Non-Sanding Sealer: 1.4mm

Dry Times:

• 10 - 15 Minutes Flash Between Coats
• 1.5 - 2 Hours Dry to Sand
• 15-20 minutes as a Non-Sanding Sealer

Sanding Recommendations:

• Final Sand Primer Surfacer P600 Grit before apply paint
• Sanding is not required when used as a Non-Sanding Sealer, however, it can be sanded to remove defects with P800 after 1 hour of dry time if needed. 

Spray Equipment Cleanup:

Clean immediately when finished using Spray Gun Cleaner or Lacquer Thinner.  MultyPrime DTM will begin gelling in the equipment around 1 hour after mixing.
