The 3M 05955, Super Duty Rubbing Compound is an aggressive compound designed for compounding lacquer, enamel, and gel-coat. It remains wet on the job with little or no mess. Maintains high rate of cut with constant pressure. Buffs to high gloss with minimum of swirl marks. Can be used by hand or machine. VOC content less than 17%.
Salesman Notes: Super Duty Rubbing Compound is great for anywhere you need a very coarse cutting compound. We've knick-named this product "Gravel-In-A-Bottle". It works great on Gel-coat and old lacquer, enamel paints and even bare aluminum and stainless steel. I like to use this product with a wool or synthetic wool twisted blend pad 1-1/2" to 2" nap. The 2" nap builds more heat thus cutting quicker. Use caution on the edges as it will burn through quickly.
